چکیده

We present a new non-rigid registration algorithm estimating the displacement field generated by articulated bodies. Indeed the bony structures between different patient images may rigidly move while other tissues may deform in a more complex way. Our algorithm tracks the displacement induced in the column by a movement of the patient between two acquisitions. The volumetric deformation field in the whole body is then inferred from those displacements using a linear elastic biomechanical finite element model. We demonstrate in this paper that this method provides accurate results on 3D sets of computed tomography (CT), MR and positron emission tomography (PET) images and that the results of the registration algorithm show significant decreases in the mean, min and max errors. # 2007 Elsevier Ltd. Studying the specificity of bone SPECT for differentiating malignant from benign lesions in the vertebral column of the patients with a known primary malignancy [Persian]

Metastatic survey of the patients with known primary malignancies with bone scan is one of the most common studies in nuclear medicine. Unfortunately the conventional planar bone scan has a very low specificity for differentiating benign from malignant lesions especially in the spinal column. In this study, we compared the specificity of SPECT imaging and convention...

Optimized co-registration method of Spinal cord MR Neuroimaging data analysis and application for generating multi-parameter maps

Introduction: The purpose of multimodal and co-registration In MR Neuroimaging is to fuse two or more sets images (T1, T2, fMRI, DTI, pMRI, …) for combining the different information into a composite correlated data set in order to visualization, re-alignment and generating transform to functional Matrix. Multimodal registration and motion correction in spinal cord MR Neuroimag...

Articulated Model Registration of MRI/X-Ray Spine Data

This paper presents a method based on articulated models for the registration of spine data extracted from multimodal medical images of patients with scoliosis. With the ultimate aim being the development of a complete geometrical model of the torso of a scoliotic patient, this work presents a method for the registration of vertebral column data using 3D magnetic resonance images (MRI) acquired...

A Modification on Applied Element Method for Linear Analysis of Structures in the Range of Small and Large Deformations Based on Energy Concept

In this paper, the formulation of a modified applied element method for linear analysis of structures in the range of small and large deformations is expressed. To calculate deformations in the structure, the minimum total potential energy principle is used. This method estimates the linear behavior of the structure in the range of small and large deformations, with a very good accuracy and low...

Articulated Non-Rigid Point Set Registration for Human Pose Estimation from 3D Sensors

We propose a generative framework for 3D human pose estimation that is able to operate on both individual point sets and sequential depth data. We formulate human pose estimation as a point set registration problem, where we propose three new approaches to address several major technical challenges in this research. First, we integrate two registration techniques that have a complementary natur...
